Our first event in this year’s Simon Peck Summer Series takes place at Abbey Gardens, a small area of parkland adjacent to the cathedral in central Bury St Edmunds, containing beautiful gardens, play areas and a wealth of ancient ruins.

There will be three courses to choose from around the gardens, with two shorter routes for beginners or a longer course for experienced orienteers.

The Simon Peck Summer Series is a cornerstone of SUFFOC’s orienteering calendar, offering a collection of events ideal for budding adventurers and seasoned explorers of the sport. The series is in memory of a beloved past member of the club, Simon Peck, who was instrumental in mapping many of our event areas as well as running the summer series in years gone by.
