Club News:

Knettishall Heath

We had several first-timers at our Knettishall event: Tracie, Chloe & Orlando have uploaded a record of their experiences on the Orange course here.

Maps: If you kindly gave your White or Brown map to another competitor at the event - thank you for helping, & our apologies that it was necessary - it's so difficult to predict numbers!

You can download a copy of the relevant map from the links below:

We also found a carrier bag containing a pair of shoes & gloves. Apparently it had been left at a previous event - maybe the recent WAOC or CUOC event - & brought to Knettishall in case the owner was looking for it. If yours, please email

EA League 2018

Congratulations to our four age-class winners - Barney (M14), Neil (M40), Lizzie (W35) & Sarah (W50) - in last year's East Anglian League. The trophy presentation took place at WAOC's Bush Heath event last weekend - & that event was also the start of the 2019 League! The next chance to score points in the 2019 League will occur on 9th February at CUOC's Icenian 2019 event, Wormley Wood, Broxbourne.

Latest events info..

Our Late Winter Events Newsletter has been mailed out to members & subscribers - it contains info about our Knettishall event so, if you'd like to read it but aren't on our mailing list you can access it here.

We've since had the go-ahead to release the Final Details file & this has now been uploaded to the website.

SuffOC Champs 2018

This year’s Club Championships were held at WAOC’s Rowney Warren event on 25th November. The Warren is described as "a well-contoured pine forest with significant spur and valley structure" & the event was chosen as it provided a greater technical challenge for the competitors.

Our congratulations to Lizzie Rosewell for a storming run which enabled her to win the SuffOC Punchbowl this year and to her husband, Neil, the close runner-up.

The results for the Club Championships can be downloaded from our website..

British Schools Orienteering Champs 2018

From John, our Club Captain:

The British Schools Orienteering Championships took place last weekend at Witton Country Park in Blackburn. The weather was superb and our juniors did very well, securing a number of podium places. Theo Stevenson-Barnes came 2nd in the B7 category; Barney Steventon-Barnes was 3rd in the B9 category and Matt Clarke, in his final school championships, finished 3rd in the B13 class.

Barnardiston School took over 20 runners to the competition. The majority of their competitors had only taken up the sport at the beginning of term but they still managed some good runs, notably Ollie Vendy who came 3rd in the B5.
