Congratulations to our four age-class winners - Barney (M14), Neil (M40), Lizzie (W35) & Sarah (W50) - in last year's East Anglian League. The trophy presentation took place at WAOC's Bush Heath event last weekend - & that event was also the start of the 2019 League! The next chance to score points in the 2019 League will occur on 9th February at CUOC's Icenian 2019 event, Wormley Wood, Broxbourne.

This year’s Club Championships were held at WAOC’s Rowney Warren event on 25th November. The Warren is described as "a well-contoured pine forest with significant spur and valley structure" & the event was chosen as it provided a greater technical challenge for the competitors.
Our congratulations to Lizzie Rosewell for a storming run which enabled her to win the SuffOC Punchbowl this year and to her husband, Neil, the close runner-up.

The British Schools Orienteering Championships took place last weekend at Witton Country Park in Blackburn.The weather was superb and our juniors did very well, securing a number of podium places. Theo Stevenson-Barnes came 2nd in the B7 category; Barney Steventon-Barnes was 3rd in the B9 category and Matt Clarke, in his final school championships, finished 3rd in the B13 class.
Barnardiston School took over 20 runners to the competition. The majority of their competitors had only taken up the sport at the beginning of term but they still managed some good runs, notably Ollie Vendy who came 3rd in the B5.
Our congratulations to Clive for his expert navigation around the streets, alleyways and bridges of Venice (with tourists adding an additional hazard) on the 10th & 11th November. This was the first time that Clive had competed in this event and he was placed 3rd in his age category over the 2 stages, one at night & the other the following day.
